SEND/SEMH Teaching Assistant – Primary School

Location: Croydon
Job Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Pay: £100 – £120 per day
Start Date: ASAP

Pink Tile Education are recruiting for a SEND/SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Croydon.

This is an excellent opportunity for a caring, patient and resilient Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with SEND, SEMH, autism, learning difficulties and challenging behaviour.

You will work alongside the class teacher and wider school team to support pupils both academically and emotionally, helping them overcome barriers to learning and develop positive behaviours.

The Role

As a SEND/SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils with SEND, SEMH, autism and learning difficulties.
  • Provide classroom, individual and small-group support.
  • Support pupils displaying challenging or disruptive behaviour.
  • Help pupils manage their emotions and regulate their behaviour.
  • Use positive and consistent behaviour management strategies.
  • Support pupils with concentration, communication and social difficulties.
  • Adapt and break down learning activities to meet individual needs.
  • Encourage engagement with learning and classroom activities.
  • Support pupils during break, lunch and other social times.
  • Build positive relationships and promote confidence and independence.
  • Maintain a calm, safe and positive learning environment.
  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to meet pupils’ individual needs.

Previous experience working in a school is desirable but not essential.

Experience working with SEND, SEMH, autism, learning difficulties or challenging behaviour would be an advantage, but candidates with relevant transferable experience will also be considered.

Pay & Holiday Pay
