Are you a Teaching Assistant who is confident supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

A specialist SEMH school in West Drayton is looking for resilient, patient and engaging Teaching Assistants to support secondary-aged pupils. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong relationships and helping young people overcome barriers to learning.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support secondary-aged pupils with SEMH needs
• Build positive relationships and encourage engagement
• Support pupils both in and outside of the classroom
• Help pupils overcome barriers to education
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
• Provide a calm, consistent and supportive presence
• Work closely with teachers and the wider school team
• Be confident managing challenging behaviour

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

• Experienced working with children or young people
• Confident supporting challenging behaviour
• Ideally experienced with SEMH, SEN, SEND, autism or ADHD
• Calm, patient, resilient and consistent
• Confident building positive relationships
• Passionate about supporting young people to reach their potential

Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker or within a care setting would be beneficial.
