We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a welcoming and supportive school in the Surrey area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with pupils, building positive relationships and helping them overcome barriers to learning.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and the wider support team to provide pupils with the individual support they need to engage with their education.
You will work with children and young people who may require additional support with learning, communication, behaviour, emotional regulation and social development.
Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND and SEMH needs.
Supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviour or find it difficult to regulate their emotions.
Assisting pupils with their learning and helping them to remain engaged in lessons.
Building positive, trusting and supportive relationships with pupils.
Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, independence and resilience.
Helping pupils manage anxiety, frustration and other emotional challenges.
Supporting positive behaviour and reinforcing appropriate boundaries.
Following individual education, behaviour and support plans.
Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff to provide consistent support.
Helping create a calm, inclusive and positive learning environment.
Monitoring pupil progress and sharing relevant information with teaching and pastoral teams.
Acting as a positive role model and encouraging pupils to reach their potential.
We are looking for someone who is patient, caring, resilient and enthusiastic about working with children and young people.
Experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, behavioural or additional needs would be highly beneficial.

You don’t necessarily need to have worked in a school previously. Relevant experience supporting children or young people in other environments will also be considered.

£100 – £120 per day, depending on experience.
