Pink Tile Education are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join a school in Croydon, providing valuable support to pupils who require additional help with their learning, behaviour and emotional development.
This role would be particularly well suited to someone with experience supporting children with SEND, autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, SEMH and challenging behaviour.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to provide tailored support to pupils both within the classroom and across the wider school environment.
You will help pupils overcome barriers to learning, develop their confidence and become more independent while encouraging positive engagement with school.
Your responsibilities may include:
Providing one-to-one and small-group support
Assisting pupils with accessing lessons and completing classroom activities
Supporting children with autism, ADHD and learning difficulties
Helping pupils manage SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
Encouraging positive attitudes towards learning and school
Developing positive, professional relationships with pupils
Supporting pupils’ social, emotional and educational development
Working alongside teachers to follow individual support plans and strategies
Promoting independence, confidence and positive behaviour
Helping maintain a safe, welcoming and inclusive learning environment
The ability to remain calm, patient and consistent is essential, particularly when supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviour.
The successful candidate will ideally be someone who:
Has previous experience working with children or young people
Has an understanding of SEND and additional learning needs
Is confident supporting pupils with challenging behaviour
Has experience or knowledge of autism, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties
Is patient, empathetic and resilient
Can build positive relationships with pupils
Is able to encourage and motivate children who may find learning challenging
Communicates effectively with both pupils and staff
Is reliable, enthusiastic and willing to get involved
Is passionate about helping young people develop and succeed
Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, SEND TA, Behaviour Support Worker, Youth Worker or similar would be advantageous.
