Pink Tile Education is looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Bromley. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is patient, resilient and passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning.
The successful candidate will support pupils both inside and outside the classroom, working closely with teaching staff to ensure pupils are engaged, supported and able to access their education.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work with pupils who may have a range of additional needs, including Autism, SEND, SEMH and challenging behaviour.
You will provide a combination of classroom support, 1:1 assistance and small-group interventions, helping pupils to engage with their learning while developing confidence, independence and emotional regulation.
Support pupils with SEND, Autism and SEMH needs within the classroom
Provide 1:1 and small-group support where required
Assist the class teacher with the delivery of lessons and learning activities
Support pupils to access and participate in the curriculum
Prepare and organise classroom resources and learning materials
Work with individual pupils to reinforce learning and complete tasks
Support pupils with challenging behaviour and emotional regulation
Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
Encourage positive behaviour and maintain clear, consistent boundaries
Help pupils develop confidence, independence and social skills
Support transitions between lessons and activities
Assist with classroom organisation and maintaining a safe, calm learning environment
Follow individual support plans, EHCP strategies and behaviour plans where appropriate
Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff
Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding pupil progress, engagement and behaviour
Support pupils during break and lunchtime where required

Committed to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
Previous experience working with SEND, Autism, SEMH, challenging behaviour, schools, care, youth work, mentoring or similar settings would be highly beneficial.
A relevant Teaching Assistant, SEND or education qualification would be advantageous but is not essential where suitable experience can be demonstrated.
