We are currently seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to join schools across the Bromley area for an immediate start.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or someone with relevant experience supporting children with SEND and SEMH needs.
The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and school staff to support pupils within the classroom, helping them to access learning, develop their confidence and overcome barriers to education.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support children with a range of SEND and SEMH needs.
Provide 1:1 and small-group support where required.
Support pupils within a classroom setting.
Work closely with the class teacher and wider school support team.
Help pupils access the curriculum and participate in learning activities.
Support children’s social, emotional and behavioural development.
Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
Adapt your approach to meet individual pupils’ needs.
Support pupils across KS1 and KS2.
Help pupils overcome barriers to learning and reach their potential.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
Experience working with children or young people.
Experience supporting children with SEND, SEMH, behavioural or additional needs.
A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
A patient, calm and nurturing approach.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
Confidence supporting pupils with challenging behaviour.
A proactive, flexible and resilient approach.
The ability to work effectively as part of a school team.
Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, SEND Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Behaviour Support Assistant, Youth Worker or similar would be advantageous.
