Learning Support Assistant

Guildford, Surrey | £93 per day | Full-Time | Monday to Friday | 8:30am–3:30pm

A specialist SEN/SEMH school in Guildford is looking for a caring, patient and resilient Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism/ASD, SEMH needs and behaviours that can challenge.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong relationships with young people and helping them feel supported, engaged and confident within the school environment.

About the Role

• Support pupils with Autism, ASD, SEMH and behaviours that can challenge
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support where required
• Help pupils engage with learning and daily activities
• Support pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
• Work closely with teachers and the wider SEN and pastoral team

What We’re Looking For

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, Autism/ASD or SEMH
• Confidence managing behaviours that can challenge
• A calm, patient and consistent approach
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Resilience and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations
• A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs

Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, Support Worker or similar would be beneficial.
