Pink Tile Education is currently recruiting for a Behaviour Support Practitioner to join a school in Croydon, supporting vulnerable students with their behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement in education.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is calm, patient and resilient, with a genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers and develop positive behaviours.

About the Role

As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will work closely with students who require additional support with behaviour, emotional regulation, social development and learning.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, helping students manage their emotions, develop positive coping strategies and engage successfully in the school environment.

The role will involve supporting students with SEND, SEMH, autism and challenging behaviour, so the ability to remain calm and consistent in challenging situations is essential.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group behavioural support.

  • Supporting students with SEND, SEMH and autism.

  • Helping students develop positive behaviour and coping strategies.

  • Supporting emotional regulation and managing difficult situations.

  • Responding calmly and appropriately to challenging behaviour.

  • Building trusting and positive relationships with vulnerable students.

  • Encouraging students to engage with learning and school life.

  • Supporting students to develop confidence, independence and social skills.

  • Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and the wider pastoral team.

  • Helping maintain a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Calm, patient and resilient.

  • Passionate about supporting children and young people.

  • Confident managing challenging or distressed behaviour.

  • Understanding of SEND and SEMH needs.

  • Ideally experienced supporting children or young people with autism.

  • Able to build strong, trusting relationships.

  • Consistent and confident when maintaining boundaries.

  • A positive role model.

  • A strong communicator and team player.

  • Reliable, enthusiastic and committed.

Previous experience working with behaviour, SEND, SEMH, autism, schools, care, youth work or vulnerable children is desirable but not essential. Relevant transferable experience will be considered.
