We are currently recruiting for a Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive school in Bromley on a full-time basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience supporting children and young people with Autism, ADHD, SEND and challenging behaviour, who is passionate about helping pupils develop positive behaviours and achieve their potential.
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will provide dedicated support to pupils who require additional help with their behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
You will work closely with pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis, providing targeted interventions and helping them develop the skills and strategies they need to manage their behaviour and succeed within the school environment.
The successful candidate will be confident, patient and consistent, with the ability to build positive relationships while maintaining clear boundaries and expectations.
Providing 1:1 behavioural and pastoral support
Supporting pupils in small-group settings
Delivering and supporting targeted behavioural and learning interventions
Supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD and SEND
Managing and responding appropriately to challenging behaviour
Helping pupils develop positive behaviour strategies
Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and self-management
Encouraging positive engagement with learning and school life
Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining clear boundaries
Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and the wider pastoral team
Supporting individual behaviour and support plans
Monitoring pupil progress and contributing to reviews where appropriate
The successful candidate will ideally have experience working with children or young people in a school, SEND, SEMH, education, care or support setting.
We are looking for someone who is:
Confident managing challenging behaviour
Calm, patient and consistent
Experienced or confident supporting pupils with Autism and ADHD
Comfortable providing 1:1 and small-group support
Able to build positive and trusting relationships with young people
Confident setting boundaries and maintaining expectations
Resilient and able to remain calm in challenging situations
Reliable, proactive and enthusiastic
Passionate about supporting children and young people
Able to work effectively as part of a wider school team
Experience working in a behavioural, SEMH or SEND environment would be highly desirable.
