People, Payroll & Compliance Officer
Guildford, Surrey | Full-Time | Monday to Friday | Term Time Only
A specialist SEN school in Guildford is looking for an organised and detail-focused People, Payroll & Compliance Officer to join their team.
This is a varied administrative role supporting HR, payroll, employee records and compliance within a specialist education setting. The successful candidate will be confident handling confidential information, maintaining accurate records and working to deadlines.
About the Role
- Support the day-to-day administration of HR and people processes
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records
- Support monthly payroll processes, checking information and identifying discrepancies
- Process starters, leavers and changes to employee information
- Maintain records relating to annual leave, sickness and staff absence
- Support recruitment and onboarding administration
- Complete and monitor Right to Work, DBS, references and other pre-employment checks
- Maintain compliance records and ensure required documentation is up to date
- Liaise with staff, managers and external providers regarding payroll and people queries
- Produce reports and maintain accurate trackers and spreadsheets
- Handle confidential employee and payroll information appropriately
- Support with HR and compliance audits when required
About You
- Previous experience in HR, payroll, people administration or compliance
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- Confident working with confidential and sensitive information
- Good understanding of payroll processes and employee records
- Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office and Excel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Accurate, methodical and proactive approach to work
- Experience working within a school, education or SEN setting would be beneficial
Previous experience as a HR Officer, People Officer, Payroll Officer, HR Administrator, Payroll Administrator or Compliance Officer would be advantageous.
