Office Manager
Guildford, Surrey | Full-Time | Monday to Friday | Term Time Only
A specialist SEN school in Guildford is looking for an experienced and organised Office Manager to join their team.
This is a varied school administration role, supporting the day-to-day running of the school office and working closely with staff, pupils, parents and visitors. The ideal candidate will be organised, professional and confident managing a busy workload in a specialist education setting.
About the Role
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the school office
- Manage general school administration and office procedures
- Welcome visitors and act as a professional first point of contact
- Answer telephone calls, emails and general enquiries
- Maintain accurate school records and administrative systems
- Support pupil admissions, attendance and general school administration
- Liaise with parents, staff, external professionals and visitors
- Support the Headteacher and wider school leadership team with administrative tasks
- Ensure school records and documentation are kept accurate and up to date
- Support with safeguarding and confidentiality procedures
- Assist with finance, purchasing and other administrative processes where required
- Help ensure the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the school
About You
- Previous experience in an Office Manager, School Office Manager, School Administrator or similar administrative role
- Experience working within a school or education setting would be beneficial
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Confident managing multiple priorities and working to deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional, approachable and able to work effectively with a range of people
- Confident using Microsoft Office and administrative systems
- Able to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately
- A proactive approach with the ability to work independently
- An understanding of safeguarding and the importance of confidentiality within a school environment
Experience within an SEN, SEND or specialist school setting would be advantageous.
