Pink Tile Education is supporting a welcoming secondary school in the Crawley area who are looking for a dedicated Science Technician to join their team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with an interest in science who enjoys practical work and wants to play an important role in supporting high-quality science lessons. You will work closely with teaching staff to prepare equipment, resources and practical activities, helping create an engaging and safe learning environment for students.
Whether you have previous experience working as a Science Technician or have a relevant science background and are looking to develop your experience within education, we would love to hear from you.
Working hours are 8:30am to 3:30pm, providing a structured school day and the opportunity to become a valued member of the science department.
Prepare equipment and resources for practical lessons, ensuring teachers and students have everything they need for experiments and demonstrations.
Set up and clear away practical activities, making sure laboratories and work areas are organised, clean and ready for lessons.
Maintain and organise science equipment and materials, monitoring stock levels and helping ensure resources are available when required.
Support the safe use of chemicals, equipment and practical resources, following school procedures and relevant health and safety guidance.
Work closely with science teachers, helping prepare practical demonstrations and activities that support the curriculum and enhance students’ learning.
Carry out routine checks and basic maintenance of equipment, reporting any faults or issues to the appropriate member of staff.
Maintain an organised and efficient science department, ensuring laboratories, preparation areas and storage spaces are kept tidy and well managed.
A genuine interest in science and practical learning.
Previous experience in a laboratory, science, education or similar environment is desirable but not essential.
Good organisational and time-management skills.
A practical and methodical approach to your work.
Confidence working with scientific equipment and materials.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to health and safety.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Someone who is reliable, proactive and keen to support students and teaching staff.
