We’re working with a Hastings-based primary school that is looking for a reliable and proactive Teaching Assistant to join their lower KS2 team.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being in the classroom, builds strong relationships with pupils and staff, and knows how to provide support without needing to be told what to do every five minutes.
You’ll be working alongside the class teacher to support learning, classroom routines and individual pupils, helping to create a calm and productive environment where children can get the most from their school day.
Supporting pupils in lower KS3
Working closely with the class teacher to support lessons and learning
Providing additional support to pupils who need extra help
Working with individuals and small groups
Helping with classroom organisation and day-to-day routines
Supporting positive behaviour and engagement
Building positive, professional relationships with pupils and staff
Adapting your approach to suit different pupils and their needs
Previous experience working with children in a school or similar educational setting
A genuine interest in supporting children’s learning and development
Confident working as part of a wider school team
A calm, patient and consistent approach
Good communication and classroom-management skills
Someone dependable, punctual and able to commit to the role
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
UK right to work
Experience supporting pupils with SEND would be particularly useful, but isn’t essential.
