Friendly Infant School Seeking an Enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher

Location: Horsham, West Sussex
Salary: £140 per day
Contract: Full Time | Temporary Maternity Cover | January Start
Key Stage: KS1 – Year 2

A warm and welcoming infant school in the centre of Horsham is seeking a dedicated Year 2 Teacher to join their team on a temporary maternity cover contract.

This is a well-established two-form entry school with a strong community feel, excellent behaviour and supportive leadership. The school prides itself on providing an engaging curriculum and creating a positive learning environment where every child feels valued.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for a lovely Year 2 class supported by an experienced Teaching Assistant and a highly supportive Key Stage 1 team.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Year 2 lessons
• Prepare pupils for end of KS1 assessments
• Differentiate learning to meet individual needs
• Track progress and provide constructive feedback
• Build positive relationships with parents and carers
• Create a safe and stimulating classroom environment
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across Key Stage 1

The Ideal Candidate

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Recent KS1 teaching experience
• Strong understanding of the Year 2 curriculum
• Excellent classroom management skills
• Passion for delivering high-quality teaching and learning
