Pink Tile Education are looking for a Cover Teacher to join a specialist SEMH/SEND school supporting boys aged 5–18.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher who enjoys variety, has strong behaviour-management skills and wants to work in a specialist setting supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, trauma and complex behavioural needs.
As a Cover Teacher, you will provide teaching across the school, covering a variety of subjects and classes depending on the needs of the day.
You will:
Deliver lessons using existing planning and resources
Support pupils across different age groups and abilities
Work with boys with SEND and SEMH needs
Manage challenging behaviour calmly and confidently
Support pupils who may experience emotional dysregulation
Establish clear boundaries and consistent routines
Adapt activities and expectations according to individual pupil needs
Build positive relationships with pupils
Work closely with Teaching Assistants and class teams
Help pupils remain engaged with learning
Contribute to a safe, caring and positive school environment
This role would suit a teacher who is confident walking into different classrooms and establishing a positive learning environment quickly.
You will ideally have:
Qualified Teacher Status or an appropriate recognised teaching qualification
Strong behaviour-management experience
Previous experience working with SEND or SEMH pupils
Experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour
An understanding of mental health, trauma or neurodiversity
A calm, consistent and resilient approach
Excellent relationship-building skills
The flexibility to adapt quickly to different classes and situations
This position is specifically aimed at teachers at MPS1–MPS3. ECT applicants are not being considered for this vacancy.
You must be a driver.
The school is located in a rural setting between Horsham and Billingshurst, with limited public transport access. You will need your own transport to reliably access the school.
The school is a specialist setting for boys aged 5–18, providing both day and residential provision. Pupils have a range of SEND, including autism, ADHD and trauma-related needs.
The school places significant importance on positive relationships, helping pupils feel safe and supported and enabling them to re-engage with education. The setting also has extensive outdoor and sporting facilities across its rural site.

The advertised daily rate is inclusive of 12.07% PAYE holiday pay.
