SEND Teacher – Specialist School

Pay: Main/Upper Pay Scale, depending on experience

Are you a qualified teacher with a passion for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?

Pink Tile Education are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teacher to join a lovely specialist school supporting children and young people aged 2–19.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified teacher who enjoys working with pupils with a wide range of needs, including those with complex SEND, challenging behaviour and additional support requirements.

The Role

You will be part of a supportive school team, delivering engaging and accessible learning to pupils across the school.

The role will involve:

  • Teaching and supporting pupils aged 2–19 with a range of SEND needs

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons adapted to individual abilities

  • Supporting pupils with complex additional needs

  • Managing and responding positively to challenging behaviour and dysregulation

  • Creating a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment

  • Adapting teaching approaches to meet individual communication, learning and developmental needs

  • Supporting pupils to develop their confidence, independence and life skills

  • Working closely with Teaching Assistants and the wider school team

  • Building strong, positive relationships with pupils

  • Following individual support plans and contributing to pupils’ wider development

  • Working collaboratively with other professionals where required

About You

You must be a qualified teacher to apply for this position.

We are looking for a teacher who:

  • Has recognised Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or appropriate teaching qualification

  • Has experience working with SEND pupils

  • Has a good understanding of differentiated teaching and individualised support

  • Is confident supporting pupils with challenging behaviour

  • Is comfortable working with children and young people with complex needs

  • Is patient, resilient and adaptable

  • Can create positive relationships with pupils and establish clear, consistent boundaries

  • Works well as part of a team

  • Is passionate about helping pupils achieve their potential

Experience within a special school, SEND provision, mainstream school with a high level of additional needs, SEMH setting or alternative provision would be highly desirable.
