Hours: Monday–Thursday 8:45am–3:15pm, Friday 8:45am–2:00pm

Pink Tile Education are looking for a caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a lovely specialist SEND school in Chichester.

The school supports children and young people aged 2–19, so we are open to candidates with experience across either primary or secondary settings. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with pupils with a range of additional needs and wants to make a genuine difference to their day-to-day lives.

The Role

You will be supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including pupils with more complex needs. Some pupils may be non-verbal, have mobility difficulties or require additional support with their personal care and emotional regulation.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with a range of SEND needs

  • Supporting pupils with complex needs, non-verbal communication and mobility challenges

  • Providing personal care and assisting with pupils’ general care needs

  • Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and helping them manage challenging situations

  • Implementing individual strategies and approaches to support positive behaviour

  • Encouraging communication, independence and engagement in learning

  • Working closely with teachers, support staff and other professionals as part of a strong team

  • Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils

  • Helping create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Caring, patient and genuinely passionate about working with children and young people with SEND

  • Confident supporting pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviour

  • Comfortable providing personal care where required

  • Able to remain calm and consistent when pupils are dysregulated

  • A strong team player with a positive and flexible attitude

  • Reliable, enthusiastic and keen to make a difference

  • Experienced in a SEND, SEN, special school, SEMH, care or similar setting is desirable, but we will consider candidates with transferable experience
