SEN Primary Teacher – Brighton

Location: Brighton & Hove
Job Type: Supply | Long-Term & School-Specific Opportunities
Pay: £140–£235 per day, depending on experience and role

About the Role

Pink Tile Education is seeking experienced and adaptable SEN Teachers to support primary-aged pupils across Brighton. We work with mainstream primary schools supporting children with additional needs, as well as settings requiring teachers with specialist SEND experience.

Opportunities include ongoing general cover, dedicated SEN class teaching, one-to-one or small-group teaching, and longer-term placements where consistency is particularly important.

We’re keen to speak with teachers who understand that effective SEN teaching requires more than adapting a worksheet. It’s about understanding individual needs, building trust, setting realistic goals and creating an environment where every pupil can make progress.

The Role

  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons for pupils with additional needs.

  • Adapt teaching strategies to support pupils with a range of learning profiles.

  • Support pupils with EHCP outcomes and individual learning targets, where applicable.

  • Use appropriate communication strategies and visual supports.

  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation and pupil independence.

  • Work alongside teaching assistants, SENCOs, families and external professionals as appropriate.

  • Maintain clear records of pupil progress and contribute to reviews where required.

  • Provide consistent teaching across general SEN cover and specific class-based assignments.

Requirements

  • QTS and experience teaching in a UK primary setting.

  • Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND, ideally within a teaching role.

  • Understanding of differentiation, inclusive practice and individual learning plans.

  • Confidence working with pupils who may have communication, sensory, social or behavioural needs.

  • A patient, adaptable and reliable approach.

  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Why Work with Pink Tile Education?

  • Access to mainstream and specialist SEN-related teaching opportunities.

  • Short-term cover and longer-term placements.

  • Roles matched to your SEND experience and preferred setting.

  • Ongoing support from a consultant who can discuss the needs of each school before a placement.
