Location: Worthing (Mainstream Primary)
Start: ASAP
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Pay: £92 per day
Contract: Temp-to-Perm (12‑week basic period)

Do you have strong phonics knowledge and experience supporting pupils with additional needs?

This warm and supportive primary school is looking for an exceptional 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to work closely with a pupil who needs targeted phonics intervention and consistent SEN support.

⭐ The Role

• Provide 1:1 literacy and phonics support using structured, evidence‑based methods
• Help the pupil develop decoding skills, reading fluency, and early comprehension
• Adapt activities to match the child’s individual learning needs and pace
• Support emotional regulation, attention, and classroom engagement
• Work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to track progress and adjust strategies
• Promote independence, confidence, and a love of learning

⭐ What We’re Looking For

• Strong phonics experience (Little Wandle, Read Write Inc., Letters and Sounds, or similar)
• Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN in a primary setting
• Calm, patient, nurturing approach – able to build quick rapport
• Someone proactive who can follow plans but also show initiative
• DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply immediately
• Reliability, positivity, and genuine passion for supporting young learners
