A welcoming and supportive primary school in the South Croydon area is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to support a Year 5 student with SEN on a full‑time basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about making a difference, building confidence, and helping a child thrive both academically and emotionally.

About the Role

  • Provide 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil with additional needs
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo and pastoral team
  • Support learning, emotional regulation and classroom engagement
  • Help implement personalised strategies and tailored interventions
  • Create a calm, structured and supportive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience supporting children with SEN (autism, communication needs, SEMH or learning difficulties beneficial)
  • Empathetic, patient and consistent in approach
  • Strong communication skills and confidence supporting upper KS2
  • Able to build positive, trusting relationships quickly
  • Reliable, proactive and committed to supporting pupil progress
