Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–1:00pm

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH setting in Chichester, supporting a primary-aged pupil on a 1:2:1 basis. This role involves working in a structured, nurturing, and supportive environment to help the pupil access learning, regulate emotions, and develop both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support a primary-aged pupil on a 1:2:1 basis
  • Provide consistent, individualised support to promote engagement and learning
  • Build a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil
  • Support behaviour management in a calm and consistent manner
  • Work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to implement strategies and interventions
  • Promote emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour
  • Follow all safeguarding procedures at all times

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviours (or willingness to learn)
  • A patient, calm, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • An understanding of behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
  • A proactive and reliable attitude
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
