Crawley
4 Days per Week
September Start
Paid to Scale

Are you a creative and passionate Art Teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people?

We are seeking an inspiring Art Teacher to join a specialist SEMH Alternative Provision in Crawley from September. This setting supports students aged 5–16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including young people who may have struggled to access mainstream education due to anxiety, emotional difficulties, or previous school-based challenges.

This is a fantastic opportunity to use creativity as a tool to engage, inspire, and build confidence in young people who thrive in a more personalised and nurturing educational environment.

The Role

As an Art Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and creative Art lessons to students across Key Stages 2, 3, and 4.

  • Adapt lessons to meet a range of learning needs and abilities.

  • Use art as a way to encourage self-expression, confidence, and emotional wellbeing.

  • Build positive relationships with students and support them to re-engage with learning.

  • Work closely with support staff and pastoral teams to ensure students achieve their potential.

  • Contribute to a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.

About the Provision

The provision supports pupils who:

  • Have SEMH needs, anxiety, or emotional regulation difficulties.

  • Have struggled to succeed in mainstream education.

  • Benefit from smaller class sizes and a personalised approach.

  • Need support to rebuild confidence, resilience, and engagement with learning.

Alongside academic progress, the provision places a strong emphasis on wellbeing, personal development, and helping young people develop the skills they need to succeed both in education and beyond.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Holds QTS, QTLS, or an equivalent teaching qualification.

  • Has experience teaching Art at primary, secondary, or alternative provision level.

  • Has experience with, or a strong understanding of, SEMH and SEND.

  • Is confident managing behaviour and using positive de-escalation strategies.

  • Can build strong relationships with students who may be disengaged from education.

  • Is patient, resilient, and passionate about supporting vulnerable young people.

  • Brings energy, creativity, and enthusiasm into the classroom.

What’s on Offer?

  • Four-day working week.

  • Small class sizes and excellent support from staff.

  • A rewarding opportunity to make a lasting impact on young people’s lives.

  • Supportive leadership and ongoing professional development.

  • Paid to scale.

If you believe creativity can transform confidence and engagement, and you are passionate about supporting young people with SEMH needs, we would love to hear from you.

Pink Tile Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All applicants will be subject to enhanced DBS checks, satisfactory references, and compliance checks in line with safer recruitment practices.
