£48,750 per annum

Assistant Headteacher – Start ASAP – Full-time – Brighton & Hove, East Sussex, UK.

Are you an Assistant Headteacher who is committed to improving the learning development & lives of children and young people?
Our client is fantastic, forward-thinking & ambitious special school for pupils with identified social, emotional, behavioural and mental health needs and social communication difficulties. Some children have been diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum. All pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

Summary of responsibilities:
Develop and lead the teaching and learning strategies for all students, with a focus on strategies to improve the knowledge, understanding and progress of
students.
In conjunction with the Head Teacher and Deputy Head Teacher to be accountable for the provision of a comprehensive range of outstanding professional development activities for staff, including the leadership and coordination of the staff performance management and review system.
Scheduling of timetables to optimise student choice, effective learning, efficient staff deployment and cost effectiveness.
The Assistant Headteacher will receive dedicated leadership time as well as their PPA release time to development and ensure quality teaching.

The school focuses on developing the key skills of literacy and numeracy to underpin a broad and dynamic curriculum. They also deliver a range of active, practical and creative subjects such as Science, Personal Social and Emotional Education (PSHE), Physical Education, Art, Textiles, Ceramics, ICT, Food Technology and Drama. Pupils are encouraged and supported to achieve recognised and accredited qualifications in most subjects and the key focus is to maximise successful outcomes for each and every young person by the end of their placement.
