Behaviour Mentor – Bexhill Area

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people? We are recruiting for a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive school in the Bexhill area on a full-time, long-term basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building positive relationships, supporting pupils with additional needs, and helping children overcome barriers to learning. The role offers the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

The Role

As a Behaviour Mentor in the Bexhill area, you will:

  • Support pupils who require additional behavioural, emotional, or pastoral support.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students.
  • Help pupils regulate their emotions using positive behaviour strategies.
  • Promote engagement in lessons and encourage participation in learning.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and pastoral staff.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group interventions.
  • Support pupils during unstructured times such as break and lunchtime where required.
  • Record progress and communicate observations with the wider school team.
  • Create a safe, calm, and inclusive learning environment.

  • Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (or hold one on the Update Service).
