Are you passionate about helping young people manage challenges, build confidence and succeed in education?

A specialist SEMH school in Woodbridge is looking for a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to support pupils aged 11–17 with social, emotional and mental health needs. Many pupils also have additional needs including autism, ADHD and communication difficulties.

The Role

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
  • Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
  • Encourage engagement with learning and wider school life.
  • Provide consistent, calm support during periods of challenging behaviour.
  • Help pupils develop confidence, resilience and independence.
  • Work closely with teachers and the wider pastoral team.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience supporting young people with SEMH, SEND or challenging behaviour is desirable.
  • Experience with autism, ADHD or communication difficulties would be advantageous.
  • Calm, patient and resilient with a consistent approach.
  • Confident managing challenging behaviour in a positive way.
  • Able to build strong relationships with young people.
  • Passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers and reach their potential.
