Behaviour Mentor – SEMH School, Margate

A specialist SEMH secondary school in Margate is seeking an experienced and committed Behaviour Mentor to join their team on a long-term, full-time basis, starting as soon as possible.

This is a rewarding role for someone with a strong background in supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, who can build positive relationships and promote positive behaviour.

The role:

  • Supporting pupils with SEMH needs throughout the school day
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support
  • Helping students manage behaviour, emotions and engagement with learning
  • Working closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams and SEN staff
  • Acting as a positive role model and supporting pupils’ personal development

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience working with children with SEMH needs (school, alternative provision or care setting)
  • Be confident in managing challenging behaviour calmly and effectively
  • Be patient, resilient and nurturing in their approach
  • Have strong communication skills and a consistent approach to behaviour support

This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting vulnerable young people and looking for a stable, long-term role within a specialist SEMH setting.
