🧠 Behavioural Mentor – SEMH Support | Worthing | Full-Time | Term-Time Only

Salary: £90–£110/day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate or January 2026


We’re looking for a Behavioural Mentor to join a forward-thinking school in Worthing, supporting pupils aged 6–16 with social, emotional, and mental health needs. These pupils may have experienced trauma, exclusion, or disrupted education – and they need someone who can help them feel safe, seen, and supported.


šŸ’¼ What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups to regulate emotions and re-engage with learning
  • Implementing behaviour plans and therapeutic strategies
  • Acting as a consistent adult presence and role model
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies
  • Helping pupils build resilience, confidence, and positive relationships

šŸ‘¤ Who We’re Looking For:

  • Someone with experience in SEMH, youth work, alternative provision, or therapeutic education
  • Calm, confident, and emotionally intelligent
  • Skilled in de-escalation and restorative approaches
  • Able to build trust and maintain boundaries
  • Committed to safeguarding and inclusive practice

Bonus Skills:

  • Team Teach or similar behaviour training
  • Trauma-informed or Thrive approach knowledge
  • Experience supporting pupils with ADHD, autism, or attachment needs
