Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Full-time Blended Learning Math Tutor to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics education, experience with blended learning techniques, and a deep understanding of Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) principles. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on students’ lives by providing tailored math instruction and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging math lessons using a blended learning approach, combining face-to-face instruction with online resources and tools
- Create personalized learning plans for students based on their individual needs, abilities, and learning styles
- Utilize various educational technologies and platforms to enhance the learning experience
- Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions to support students’ mathematical understanding and skill development
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student learning
- Incorporate SEMH principles into tutoring sessions to support students’ overall well-being and academic success
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in math education, blended learning techniques, and SEMH practices
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and other relevant data
- Participate in professional development opportunities to continually improve teaching skills and knowledge
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification or tutoring credentials
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a math tutor or teacher
- Proficiency in various mathematical subjects, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus
- Experience with blended learning methodologies and educational technologies
- Strong understanding of SEMH principles and their application in educational settings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs
- Proficiency in using computers and various educational software
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Mathematics Education or a related field
- Additional certifications in specialized math instruction or SEMH support
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including those with learning disabilities or mental health challenges
- Familiarity with online learning management systems and virtual tutoring platforms
