Full-time Citizenship & PSHE Teacher

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Citizenship & PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic education) Teacher to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping the personal and social development of our students, fostering their understanding of citizenship, and preparing them for the challenges and opportunities of modern society.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Curriculum Development and Delivery:
    • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Citizenship and PSHE lessons to students across all key stages
    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive, up-to-date curriculum that aligns with national standards and school policies
    • Incorporate current events and societal issues into lessons to ensure relevance and engagement
    • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of all students, including those with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) and SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) requirements
  2. Assessment and Monitoring:
    • Regularly assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their learning and development
    • Maintain accurate records of student achievement and progress
    • Prepare and submit progress reports for students, parents, and school leadership
    • Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance student performance
  3. Pastoral Care and Support:
    • Provide guidance and support to students on personal, social, and emotional issues
    • Collaborate with the school’s pastoral team to address individual student needs and concerns
    • Implement strategies to support students with SEMH and SEND requirements, ensuring their full inclusion in the learning process
    • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students
  4. Cross-curricular Collaboration:
    • Work closely with colleagues across different subject areas to integrate Citizenship and PSHE themes into the broader curriculum
    • Participate in interdisciplinary projects and initiatives that promote holistic student development
    • Contribute to the school’s overall ethos of promoting British values and global citizenship
  5. Extra-curricular Activities:
    • Organize and lead citizenship-related clubs, workshops, and events
    • Coordinate guest speaker sessions and external partnerships to enrich the Citizenship and PSHE curriculum
    • Support and encourage student participation in community service and volunteer programs
