We are looking for a calm and resilient Complex Needs Assistant to support pupils with SEND, SEMH, and behavioural needs across schools in Hastings. The role focuses on de-escalation, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour support to help pupils stay engaged in learning.
Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and complex needs.
Use trauma-informed, proactive de-escalation techniques.
Support pupils with self-regulation and identifying triggers.
Help maintain a positive, structured classroom environment.
Build supportive relationships that promote wellbeing and engagement.
Record behaviour incidents and contribute to support plans.
Work closely with teachers, support staff, and families.
Experience with children/young people in SEND, SEMH, or behaviour-support settings.
Calm, empathetic, and resilient under pressure.
Proactive and flexible, able to work across different school settings.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
Knowledge of de-escalation, restorative practice, or trauma-informed approaches.
Flexible work with preference for Monday–Friday availability.
