We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a supportive and welcoming secondary school in Horsham. This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, ideal for someone passionate about education and making a positive impact on young people’s lives.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning by supervising classes during teacher absences. You will work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to ensure students remain engaged, supported, and safe throughout the school day.
Supervising whole classes across a range of subjects in the absence of the class teacher
Delivering pre-set lesson plans and ensuring students stay on task
Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
Providing guidance and support to students to help them achieve learning objectives
Reporting back to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour
Contributing positively to the school’s supportive and inclusive environment
Has experience working with young people (school-based experience desirable but not essential)
Is confident, adaptable, and able to manage a classroom effectively
Has strong communication and organisational skills
Is reliable and committed to supporting student learning
Must have a DBS on the Update Service or be willing and prepared to obtain one prior to starting the role
