A well-regarded secondary school in Lewes is seeking a Cover Supervisor to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis from September 2025. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone with previous experience in education who is looking to build on their classroom management skills and gain further school-based experience.
The Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into the classroom when teachers are absent, delivering pre-set work and ensuring that lessons run smoothly. You’ll be responsible for managing student behaviour, maintaining a positive learning environment, and reporting back to teaching staff on progress or issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Delivering lessons from pre-prepared plans across a range of subjects
Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a purposeful learning environment
Taking attendance and reporting any issues or concerns
Supporting students in staying engaged with their learning
Acting as a positive role model for young people
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Previous experience working with young people in a school or similar setting
Strong communication and classroom management skills
A calm, adaptable, and confident approach
A passion for education and supporting learners
Requirements:
Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (essential)
At least 2 months of experience working with children or young people
Up-to-date safeguarding training (we can support with this if needed)
Right to work in the UK
Pay:
Starting from £115 per day, with potential for increased rates based on experience and responsibilities.
