Food Technology / Design & Technology Teacher – Hastings
Location: Hastings, East Sussex
Contract Type: Ad Hoc – Short & Long Term Opportunities (Permanent roles available from time to time)
Salary: Paid to scale (MPS/UPS depending on experience)
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Food Technology / Design & Technology Teachers to work with schools in Hastings on an ad hoc basis — covering both short and long-term placements. This is an excellent opportunity for teachers who enjoy variety, flexibility, and making a positive impact across different school communities.
Deliver Food Technology / Design & Technology lessons that are either pre-planned or planned and prepped as agreed with the school.
Inspire students to develop creativity, problem-solving skills, and practical design and cooking abilities.
Adapt quickly to new school environments and maintain high standards of teaching and behaviour management.
Support extra-curricular activities, clubs, or events related to Food Tech / DT where possible.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Strong subject knowledge and passion for teaching Food Technology / DT
Excellent communication and classroom management skills
Flexibility and a proactive, positive approach
