Finance Assistant
Location: Brighton

Hours: 3 days per week, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday
Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm
Start Date: After October half term
Pay: Grade B
We are currently recruiting for a Finance Assistant to join an education setting in Brighton on a temporary-to-permanent basis.
This is a part-time position working Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 8:00am–4:00pm, with a start date after October half term.
The school is looking for someone with previous finance administration experience, ideally within an education setting. Experience using Arbor and knowledge of (MIS) would be particularly beneficial.
The Role
As Finance Assistant, you will support the school with a range of day-to-day financial and administrative duties, including:
- Processing invoices and payments
- Supporting BACS payment processes
- Maintaining accurate financial records
- Processing purchase orders
- Assisting with income and expenditure records
- Supporting account reconciliation
- Updating financial information on Arbor
- Liaising with suppliers and colleagues regarding financial queries
- Maintaining confidential financial information
- Following school finance procedures and policies
- Providing general administrative support when required
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience in a finance administration role
- Experience working within a school or education setting
- Knowledge of BACS payments and financial processes
- Experience using Arbor and MIS would be an advantage
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Good communication skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A reliable, professional and flexible approach
- The ability to handle confidential information appropriately
