We are currently recruiting a Food Technician to join a specialist SEMH school in West Drayton from September.

This is a fantastic opportunity to support the Food Technology department within a specialist school environment, helping to prepare practical lessons, maintain equipment, and ensure a safe, organised learning space. You’ll work closely with teaching staff to support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs during practical food technology sessions, helping to create a positive and engaging learning experience.

The role will include:

  • Preparing ingredients, equipment, and resources for practical food technology lessons
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe food preparation area
  • Managing stock levels and ordering ingredients and supplies as required
  • Ensuring compliance with food hygiene, health and safety, and COSHH regulations
  • Cleaning, maintaining, and checking kitchen equipment
  • Supporting teachers and pupils during practical lessons where appropriate
  • Helping to create a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience working in a food technology department, commercial kitchen, catering, or a similar environment
  • Good knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety practices
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A calm, patient, and flexible approach
  • A genuine interest in supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs

Training and ongoing support will be provided.
