We are currently recruiting for a Food Technology Teacher to join a specialist SEMH school in West Drayton, supporting children and young people aged 11–16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and engaging teacher who can inspire pupils through practical, hands-on learning while helping them develop confidence, independence, and valuable life skills. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.

The Role:

• Planning and delivering engaging Food Technology lessons to pupils with SEMH needs
• Creating a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
• Teaching practical cooking, nutrition, food preparation, and food hygiene skills
• Adapting lessons to meet individual learning needs and EHCP outcomes
• Promoting positive behaviour and supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing
• Maintaining a safe and organised Food Technology classroom in line with health and safety regulations
• Working collaboratively with the wider teaching, pastoral, and therapeutic teams
• Monitoring pupil progress and contributing to reviews and reports

The Ideal Candidate:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
• Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level
• Experience working with pupils with SEMH, SEND, or additional needs is desirable
• Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, resilient approach
• Passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Food Hygiene qualification is desirable but not essential
