Role Overview:
We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Food Technician to join our school’s vibrant team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Food Technology department, helping to deliver engaging and effective practical lessons to students of varying ages and abilities. This is a full-time role, starting as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and organize materials, ingredients, and equipment for practical food lessons.
  • Support teachers and students during practical sessions by demonstrating techniques and ensuring a safe, clean working environment.
  • Maintain stock levels of ingredients and equipment, placing orders as needed and ensuring proper storage and inventory management.
  • Assist in the setup and cleaning of the food technology classrooms, including managing hygiene and safety standards.
  • Provide administrative support to the Food Technology department, including photocopying, lesson preparation, and resource management.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health and safety regulations and ensure compliance with all food hygiene standards.
  • Work closely with teachers to develop engaging and educational food technology lessons and resources.

Person Specification:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a school or educational setting.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.
  • A proactive and enthusiastic approach to work, with a passion for food education.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students and staff.
  • A commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
