Graduate Psychology Assistant – SEN Support in Primary Schools

Salary: £89–£97 per day
Contract: Full-time, Term-Time


About the Role

Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain practical experience in education and child development? We have exciting opportunities for graduates to work in mainstream primary schools in Chichester, supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) such as autism, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

This role is ideal for those considering careers in educational psychology, clinical psychology, or SEN teaching, offering hands-on experience in a supportive school environment.


What You’ll Do

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
  • Assist teachers in implementing tailored learning and behaviour strategies
  • Help pupils develop confidence, resilience, and emotional regulation
  • Support interventions for speech, language, and emotional literacy
  • Work closely with SENCOs, teachers, and external professionals

What We’re Looking For

  • A Psychology degree (or related field)
  • Passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Empathy, patience, and a proactive approach
  • A valid DBS or willingness to obtain one
  • Previous experience with children (school, care, or voluntary) is desirable
