Pink Tile Education is supporting a secondary school in Brighton find a Head of Maths. The school is committed to high-quality teaching, student development, and a positive learning environment, fostering ambition, collaboration, and continuous improvement among staff and students.

 

The Associate Assistant Principal for Mathematics will provide strategic leadership for Mathematics across the school, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement. The post holder will contribute to wider school leadership as part of the extended senior leadership team, supporting whole-school improvement, quality assurance, and staff development.

 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead the Mathematics faculty, providing guidance, support, and coaching to teachers

  • Plan, monitor, and evaluate teaching and learning across the department

  • Develop and implement curriculum plans, assessment strategies, and intervention programmes

  • Analyse student performance data to inform teaching and raise attainment

  • Promote numeracy and mathematical thinking across other subjects and the wider curriculum

  • Conduct lesson observations, provide feedback, and support professional development for staff

  • Attend and contribute to leadership team meetings, supporting whole-school priorities

  • Ensure departmental compliance with policies, safeguarding, and quality standards

  • Coordinate extracurricular opportunities, enrichment, and initiatives linked to Mathematics

  • Support student behaviour, engagement, and progress across all year groups

The successful candidate is expected to:
