Are you an experienced HLTA looking for an opportunity to be part of something new?
A brand-new specialist SEMH school in Esher is opening its doors to pupils aged 7–17 and is looking for experienced HLTAs to join the team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting pupils and helping establish the school’s approach from the beginning.
The Role
As an HLTA, you will:
- Support teaching and learning across the school
- Lead lessons and activities when required
- Work with pupils aged 7–17 with SEMH needs
- Adapt activities and learning to suit individual needs
- Support pupils with behaviour, engagement and emotional regulation
- Build positive and consistent relationships with pupils
- Work alongside teachers and the wider pastoral team
- Contribute to the development of a brand-new specialist setting
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
- An experienced HLTA, Teaching Assistant or education professional
- Confident leading learning and working independently
- Experienced supporting pupils with SEMH, SEN or challenging behaviour
- Calm, resilient and able to maintain consistent boundaries
- Adaptable and confident working with different ages and abilities
- Passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers to education
Experienced Cover Supervisors and Unqualified Teachers may also be considered where they have relevant experience.
