Are you an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) looking for a rewarding role where no two days are the same?

A welcoming and supportive primary school is seeking a confident and proactive HLTA to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership, supporting teaching and learning across the school, and stepping into classes when teachers are attending meetings, training, PPA time, or leadership commitments.

🏫 The Role

This is a varied and highly valued position within the school. As a HLTA, you will play a key role in ensuring continuity of learning by confidently leading classes when required and supporting the wider teaching assistant team.

Responsibilities include:

✅ Covering classes across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 during teacher absence, PPA and leadership meetings

✅ Delivering pre-planned lessons and learning activities

✅ Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining high expectations

✅ Supporting pupils’ learning and progress across the curriculum

✅ Providing guidance and support to Teaching Assistants

✅ Delivering interventions for individuals and small groups

✅ Supporting teachers with planning, preparation and assessment activities

✅ Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and SENDCo

✅ Helping maintain a positive, nurturing and engaging learning environment

🌟 We’re Looking For Someone Who:

• Holds HLTA Status or has significant experience working at HLTA level
• Has previous experience covering classes independently
• Is confident leading learning across the primary age range
• Can quickly build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Has strong behaviour management skills
• Is organised, adaptable and proactive
• Enjoys mentoring and supporting other Teaching Assistants
• Has a genuine passion for helping children achieve their full potential
