About the Role

This is a long-term supply position, offering consistency and the chance to take on a varied and rewarding role within the school.

As an HLTA, you will support teaching and learning across the school, including leading whole-class sessions in the absence of the teacher, delivering interventions, and working closely with staff to raise pupil attainment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons and lead whole-class teaching when required
• Support pupils’ learning across EYFS, KS1, and KS2
• Lead small group interventions to support progress in core subjects
• Provide 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs
• Assist with planning, preparation, and assessment where required
• Promote positive behaviour management in line with school policies
• Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
• Contribute to maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment

Requirements

• HLTA status or equivalent qualification/experience – essential
• Previous experience working within a UK primary school
• Confident leading a class and delivering lessons independently
• Strong understanding of the primary curriculum
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills
• A proactive, flexible, and reliable approach
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Desirable

• Experience across multiple key stages
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND
• Experience delivering targeted interventions (e.g., phonics, maths)
