Humanities Teacher 

Esher, Surrey | Pay to Scale | Full-Time | September Start

A brand-new specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Esher, Surrey is looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable Humanities Teacher to join their team for a September start.

The school will support pupils aged 7–17 with SEMH, SEN and additional learning needs, providing a nurturing and structured environment for students who may have experienced barriers to mainstream education.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Humanities Teacher, History Teacher or Geography Teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and enjoys building strong relationships with pupils.

About the Role

As a Humanities Teacher, you will deliver engaging and accessible lessons, adapting your teaching to meet the individual needs of pupils across different ages and abilities.

  • Teach Humanities across ages 7–17
  • Plan and deliver engaging History, Geography and Humanities lessons
  • Adapt lessons and resources to support different learning needs
  • Support pupils with SEMH, SEN and challenging behaviour
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and establish clear, consistent boundaries
  • Encourage engagement, confidence and participation in learning
  • Support pupils who may have struggled within a mainstream school environment
  • Work closely with the wider education, pastoral and SEND team
  • Contribute to the development of the curriculum and culture of a brand-new school

QTS is preferred, although experienced education professionals without QTS may also be considered, depending on their experience and suitability for the role.
