A brand-new specialist SEMH school in Esher is looking for an enthusiastic Humanities Teacher to join their team as they open their doors to pupils aged 7–17.

This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who enjoys working creatively, adapting lessons and building strong relationships with pupils who may have experienced barriers to mainstream education.

About the Role

You will be responsible for delivering engaging Humanities lessons, adapting your approach to suit a range of ages, abilities and individual needs.

  • Teach Humanities across ages 7–17
  • Plan creative and accessible lessons that encourage engagement
  • Adapt the curriculum to meet individual learning needs
  • Build positive relationships and establish clear, consistent boundaries
  • Support pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
  • Encourage confidence, participation and progress
  • Work as part of a supportive education and pastoral team
  • Have the opportunity to help shape the curriculum and culture of a new school

What We’re Looking For

The successful candidate will be:

  • An experienced Humanities Teacher with a strong subject knowledge
  • Confident supporting pupils with SEMH/SEN needs
  • Resilient, patient and adaptable
  • Skilled at engaging pupils who may struggle within traditional education
  • A strong communicator and relationship builder
  • Passionate about providing pupils with positive educational experiences

Experienced education professionals without QTS may also be considered, depending on their experience and suitability for the role.
