We are looking for an enthusiastic, resilient, and compassionate Individual Needs Assistants to join our specialist team at a school supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is a deeply rewarding role for someone with a nurturing nature and a commitment to helping young people thrive both academically and emotionally. Whether you’re experienced in education or bringing transferable skills from another sector, we’d love to hear from you!

You may have worked in roles such as:

  • Youth Worker

  • Support Worker

  • Care Assistant

  • Behaviour Mentor

  • Learning Mentor

  • SEN Teaching Assistant

  • Mental Health Support Worker

  • Classroom Assistant

  • Outreach Worker

  • Sports Coach

Key Skills & Attributes We’re Looking For:

  • Empathy, patience and a calm approach to challenging behaviour

  • Strong communication and active listening skills

  • Ability to build trust and positive relationships with young people

  • Team player with a proactive mindset

  • Resilience and a sense of humour

  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills

  • Experience working with vulnerable children or young people (desirable but not essential)

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supporting students in the classroom on a 1:1 or small group basis

  • Helping young people regulate their emotions and engage with learning

  • Working closely with teachers, therapists, and families

  • Supporting behaviour management strategies

  • Assisting with classroom organisation and planning
