Job Title: 1:1 Individual Needs Assistant 
Location: Brighton and surrounding areas 
Hours: [Full-time / Part-time]
Start Date:ASAP
Pay: £85-£95 day rate 

***About the Role***

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Individual Needs Assistants to support a children with Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) within an educational setting.

  • This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in a young person’s academic, social, and emotional development by providing tailored, consistent support throughout the school day.

***Key Duties & Responsibilities***
  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support in line with the child’s EHCP targets

  • Support learning within the classroom and adapt tasks where required

  • Assist with emotional regulation and social interaction

  • Implement behaviour support strategies and de-escalation techniques

  • Promote independence and confidence

  • Liaise with the class teacher, SENCo, and external professionals

  • Record progress, incidents, and observations accurately

  • Support with transitions between lessons and activities

  • Build a positive, trusting relationship with the child

  • Teaching Assistant (TA)

  • Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

  • Nursery Practitioner

  • Youth Worker

  • Support Worker (Children or Adults)

  • Behaviour Mentor

  • Care Worker

  • Residential Support Worker

  • Sports Coach

  • Early Years Practitioner

  • Physiology graduate
  • Mental Health Support Worker

Experience working with children or young people with SEND, SEMH, autism, ADHD, or additional needs is highly desirable but not always essential for the right candidate.
