Infant School Class Teacher (Reception–Year 2)

A small, friendly 2‑form entry infant school in Horsham is seeking a committed and enthusiastic class teacher to join their team from September. The school is open to teachers across Reception, Year 1 or Year 2, with the year group allocated based on experience and strengths.

This is a nurturing and inclusive setting with a strong emphasis on early learning, positive relationships and pupil wellbeing. The school benefits from a close‑knit staff team who work collaboratively to support both pupils and colleagues.

The Role

  • Full class teacher responsibility within Reception, Year 1 or Year 2
  • Delivering engaging, age‑appropriate learning in line with the Early Years Framework or KS1 curriculum
  • Creating a warm, structured and supportive classroom environment
  • Working closely with teaching assistants and fellow year‑group teachers
  • Building strong relationships with pupils, parents and carers

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or due to qualify (ECTs encouraged to apply)
  • A passion for early learning and child‑centred teaching
  • Strong understanding of phonics, early reading and foundational learning
  • A positive, reflective and flexible approach
  • Willingness to contribute to a supportive and collaborative school culture
