A friendly and supportive two-form entry primary school in Horsham is seeking a caring and dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with Special Educational Needs within Key Stage 1.

The Role
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a KS1 pupil with SEN
- Support the child’s academic, social and emotional development
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support staff
- Adapt learning activities to meet the child’s individual needs
- Encourage independence, confidence and engagement in learning
- Implement strategies outlined in support plans and interventions
- Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils, staff and parents
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working with children in a school, nursery or childcare setting
- Experience supporting children with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, or SEMH is desirable
- Patient, resilient and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to remain calm and positive in challenging situations
- Passion for supporting children’s learning and wellbeing
