A friendly and forward-thinking primary school in Brighton is looking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic KS2 Teacher on a long-term supply basis. The school is known for its supportive leadership team, positive learning environment, and strong focus on both academic achievement and pupil wellbeing.

About the Role

This is a long-term supply position within Key Stage 2, offering consistency and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the classroom.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, supporting pupil progress, and maintaining a positive and structured learning environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the KS2 curriculum
  • Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress effectively
  • Differentiate teaching to meet a range of abilities, including pupils with SEND
  • Create a positive, well-managed, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Prepare pupils for end-of-key-stage assessments (where applicable)
  • Work closely with teaching assistants and other staff members
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers where required

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • Experience teaching within Key Stage 2
  • Strong knowledge of the UK primary curriculum
  • Confident in delivering core subjects including English and Maths
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A proactive, reliable, and adaptable approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Desirable

  • Experience preparing pupils for SATs
  • Strong understanding of assessment frameworks within KS2
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND
  • A proven track record of raising attainment
