About the School

A supportive and forward-thinking primary school in Bexhill-on-Sea is looking to appoint a confident and adaptable KS2 Teacher to join their team on a supply basis. The school has a strong focus on maintaining high standards of teaching and learning, alongside promoting a positive and inclusive environment for all pupils.

Staff work collaboratively and are committed to helping pupils develop both academically and personally as they prepare for the transition to secondary school.

About the Role

This is a flexible supply teaching position, offering a mix of day-to-day cover and longer-term placements within Key Stage 2.

For daily supply, you will deliver pre-planned lessons and maintain continuity of learning. For longer-term roles, you may take on full classroom responsibilities, including planning, marking, and assessment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and structured lessons aligned with the KS2 curriculum
• Follow lesson plans for daily cover or plan and assess learning for long-term roles
• Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment
• Support pupils’ academic progress and overall wellbeing
• Differentiate teaching to meet a range of abilities, including SEND
• Support pupils in preparing for end-of-key-stage expectations, including SATs
• Work closely with teaching assistants and wider staff

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
• Experience teaching within Key Stage 2
• Strong knowledge of the UK primary curriculum
• Confident delivering core subjects, particularly English and Maths
• Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
• A flexible, reliable, and proactive approach
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Desirable

• Experience preparing pupils for SATs
• Experience supporting children with SEND
• A track record of raising attainment and supporting pupil progress
