KS3 Semi-Formal Teacher (SEND)

Semi Formal KS3 Teacher – Start Jan 3rd 2023 – Full-time – Crawley, West Sussex, UK.

Our Client is an outstanding Specialist SEND School catering for young people with a variety of needs, across both primary and secondary age. They are seeking to appoint a KS3 Teacher permanently, to teach in a semi formal framework, to students that require a semi formal manner.

The semi-formal curriculum recognises that some young people have a range of complex learning difficulties; and it is this combination of two or more challenges that the curriculum is designed to meet by a personalised learning approach.

You must be a qualified teacher with PGCE, QTS or recognised equivalent. Alternatively, you must have experience working in SEND setting with a proven track record.

We are looking for a passionate, dedicated, and inspirational individual to start with our Client after Christmas 2022.

Key areas of responsibility:
Planning & preparation of classroom materials
Deliver learning in a Semi Formal format to a small class (size ~5)
Work closely with pupils to support their learning & development
Promote and enable social development opportunities
Manage classroom behaviour/needs of young people

The successful candidate will need to have experience in the following areas:
Creative approaches to learning in SEND
An understanding or experience of the use of interventions within a SEND setting
Willingness to learn & adapt to challenging situations

Rate of pay: Paid to scale (MPS/UPS)

Successful applicants will be required to undertake various background checks including obtaining a DBS, if they do not hold a valid certificate that is on the update service. A safeguarding certificate will also need to be obtained via an online course prior to first placement.
